1. Safety requirement

1.Safety requirement

1.1 The grease must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard, according to technological regulations and from components which applied during producing of grease samples passed state tests with positive results and were approved for using in established order.

1.2 According to physical and chemical indicators, the CIATIM-221 grease must comply with the requirements and standards are represented below:

1. Appearance

Homogeneous ointment of black color

Under paragraph 3.2.

2. Stability at (20+/-3) Celsius degree during 10 min, %, no more than

10

Under paragraph 3.3.

3. Corrosion effects on metals at temperature of plus 250 Celsius degree during 3 hours

It withstands

According to GOST 9.080-77 and under paragraph 4.4 of this standard

2. Acceptance rules

2.1 The grease is taken in batches. A batch is considered to be a quantity of grease weighting up to 100 kg produced during a continuous technological cycle of approved technology, homogeneous on the component composition and quality indicators and accompanied by a quality document containing data according to GOST 1510.

2.2 The volume of samples is determined according to GOST 2517-85.

2.3 If unsatisfactory test results are obtained for at least one indicator, repeated tests are performed on a newly selected sample take from the same sample.

The results of repeated tests are distributed to the entire batch.

(Revised version, Ed. N 3).

3. Test methods

3.1 Samples are taken according to GOST 2517. The mass of the combined sample must be 500 g.

3.2 To determine the appearance, the grease is applied with a spatula on a glass plate according GOST 111 size 50x70x2 mm using a template (internal dimensional 35x35 mm, thick 2 mm) and viewed with the naked eye in passing light. The paste must not contain water particles.

3.1, 3.2 (Revised version, Ed. N 2).

3.3 Determining of the paste stability

3.3.1 Equipment:

Small-sized angular centrifuge type СUM-1;

Glass tubes according to GOST 1770, versions 1 or 2, shortened up to 70 mm.

(Revised version, Ed. N 1, 2).

3.3.2 Testing

Determining of the paste stability is the separation of the liquid phase from the paste under the influence of centrifugal force at (20+/-) Celsius degree.

When testing tubes with the paste on (3+/-0,1) cm in each tube are placed in metal tubes of centrifuge and carry out the centrifugation during 10 min at a rotor speed of 2000 min. At the end of centrifugation, count the amount of liquid phase released into each tube with an error of no more than 0,1 cm.

3.3.3 Processing of results

The stability of the paste in percentage count according to the formula, where is the volume of liquid phase released after centrifugation, cm; the volume of the paste taken for testing, cm.

3.3.4 The stability of the paste is counted as the arithmetic mean of parallel determinations in four test tubes, the allowed discrepancy between which must not be exceed 0,1 cm of the liquid released of the paste.

3.3 The corrosion effects on metals is carried out on the steel plate grades 12X18Н9T according GOST 5632 and aluminum alloy grades AK7Ч(АЛ9) … according to GOST 1583. Uniform darkening of the steel plates is not sign of rejection.

(Revised version, Ed. N 1, 3).

4. Packing, labeling, transportation and storage

4.1 Packing, labeling, transportation and storage of the grease is carried out according to GOST 1510-84 with the follow addition: the paste is packed in aluminum tubes made of white tin with a capacity of up to 100 cm, or in cans made with white tin with a capacity of up 1 dm. In agreement with the consumer, cans and tubes can be shipped in soft containers without packaging in wooden and cardboard boxes.

4.2 The paste must be stored in the manufacturer’s container. During storage of the paste it’s allowed of release the liquid phase. Before using, the paste must be mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

5. Manufacturer’s guarantee

5.1 The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the grease the requirements of this standard if the storage and transportation conditions are met.

5.2 The warranty period for storing of the grease is 2 years from the day of manufacture.

5.3 (Excluded, Ed. N 2).

6. Safety requirement

6.1 While operate with the paste must apply personal protective equipment according to the industry standards approved by the State Committee for labor and social Affairs of the USSR and VCSPS.

6.2 According to the degree of impact on the body, the paste VNII NP-225 belongs to the 4th hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007.

(Revised version, Ed. N 2).

6.3 In case of fire in the room the following fire extinguishing means should be applied: OP-10 and OU-8 fire extinguishers, felt mat, sand and water.
